Discover the story behind our fresh new Bondi Mint logo and branding

While there is no doubt that the past few months have been a challenging time for businesses due to Covid-19, there has thankfully still been opportunity to innovate, grow and thrive in the fintech space.

And in Clearpay’s case (or Afterpay as we are known in the US, Australia and New Zealand), we’ve been working hard behind the scenes to introduce a new global look and feel to our brand.

Representing transparency, freshness, energy and modernity, our new logo and branding has been reimagined in Bondi Mint – a shade created in collaboration with revered colour institute Pantone. This vibrant design is the result of extensive user research and trend forecasting, designed to align with the attributes and values of the Clearpay consumer.

The logo is formed from two disconnected triangles to a continuous “loop”, representing the infinite relationship and connection between Clearpay’s consumers and merchants. This connection creates a network effect that generates, on average, 14 million referrals per month from our Shop Directory to merchant partners.

“Off the back of Clearpay’s strong global growth, the time has never been better to update our visual identity and more strongly reflect who our customers are and why they choose Clearpay,” explains Clearpay Global CMO, Geoff Seeley. “This new brand is a powerful representation of what we deliver for both consumers and merchants, with sustainable financial wellness at its core.”

And after just five years in business, there is a lot to celebrate. Clearpay has emerged as one of the most disruptive companies in retail fintech with nearly 10 million customers and more than 55,000 merchants. Our research has shown that this success is due to Clearpay’s Buy Now, Pay Later model that empowers customers to access the things they want and need in their life, while still maintaining financial wellness and control.

With this fresh new look and feel, we hope to expand our reach and continue offering sustainable financial wellness to more people than ever while driving more positive business results for our merchant partners. The new branding is being rolled out in stages over the next few weeks for merchant websites and physical stores so watch this space for updates in the UK.
